Week Six

The Student Conduct to me is like common sense when it comes to cheating and plagiarizing. It is something you learn about each and every year and it is defiantly something teachers make clear of on the first day of class when going over the syllabus. I also understand that sometimes when you are researching for your class and papers there is so much on the Internet and in books, sometimes you forget what you have read and what belongs to who. But with all the practice and all the sources available to you on the Internet no one should have to plagiarize. If one were to question at all, just cite it, that is how I feel and what I do. I agree citing can get pretty difficult and confusing, but having so much support from our professors and our librarians there is no excuse.
After reading the actual code of conduct and taking the quiz I defiantly feel like I need to be more careful when it comes to the papers I write and the information that I end up writing on paper. If I question the information at all I'm going to carefully site, because even using someone's else's thought process can be considered plagiarizing. I defiantly miss understood reading the part where a student can use one paper for two separate classes if the instructor accepts it. To me I just remember being told we have to even cute our own work if it comes down to it. I defiantly learned and polished up the rules a little bit going through the code and reading through it. With all the time and effort you put into your research papers for your grades, someone else took time to write down theirs too, so don't steal their information without acknowledging their hard work, just like you would want to be acknowledged for your hard work.
